What is the Argent Card?

The Argent Card is a self-custody crypto debit card that lets you spend USDC anywhere Mastercard is accepted. You keep full control of your assets — no banks, no intermediaries. You can choose between:

• Argent Metal – a premium 16g metal card (available in gold or metal) with up to 10% cashback and exclusive perks‍
• Argent Lite – a plastic card with essential features for just $6.99 shipping

How do I order it?

Join our waitlist here. Once eligible, you’ll receive an email. You can then order your Argent Metal or Lite card directly from the Argent Mobile app after completing ID verification.

How does the card work?

It’s just like any other debit card, but the currency you spend is USDC. If you do not have enough USDC in your wallet to purchase the item(s) that you want, it will decline.

Do I need to verify my ID?

Yes. You must complete ID verification before receiving the Argent Card. This is necessary to comply with regulations, prevent fraud, and ensure the card works with traditional payment networks like Mastercard.

Privacy note: 

• Argent does not process or store your KYC data.
• ID verification is handled by Kulipa, a regulated card issuer. They ensure compliance while keeping your personal data private.
• ID verification does not impact self-custody. They’re your private keys and your coins. 

Is the Argent Card self-custodial?

Yes. Unlike most other crypto cards, Argent never holds or controls your funds. Your crypto stays in your self-custodial wallet until you make a payment. The card simply facilitates spending while you remain in full control of your assets. 

What cryptocurrencies can I load onto the card?

Currently, the Argent Card only supports USDC for loading and spending. Additional cryptocurrencies may be added in the future.

Fees & Payments

How much does Argent Metal cost?

The Argent Metal card costs 120 USDC for the first year, paid upfront for the first release. In the future, we plan to introduce a monthly payment option.

The card does not automatically renew after one year. We'll notify you before renewal so you can choose whether to continue.

How much does Argent Lite cost?

Argent Lite Card is free. You only pay a standard shipping fee of $6.99.

How do fees work?

Argent Card has no FX fees, conversion fees, or top-up fees. 1 USDC = 1 USD.

• No hidden markups on exchange rates: We use the official Mastercard exchange rate without markups. You can view the current exchange rate using the Mastercard Currency Converter Calculator.
• No crypto-to-fiat conversion fees: Unlike other cards, we charge no hidden spreads when converting crypto to fiat.
• No top-up fees: Your crypto stays in your wallet until you spend it, with no extra charges for moving funds.

‍Where is the Argent Card accepted?

The card can be used globally wherever Mastercard is accepted.

What currencies can I pay in?

You can spend in any currency supported by Mastercard. Your USDC is converted to fiat at the time of purchase using the official Mastercard exchange rate.‍

Tip: When paying abroad, some merchants may offer to charge you in USD (or your card’s currency) instead of the local currency. Always choose to pay in the local currency to avoid hidden fees or poor exchange rates added by the payment terminal provider.

Can I withdraw from ATMs?

Yes, you can withdraw from any ATM that accepts Mastercard.

• Argent Metal members get up to $800/month in fee-free withdrawals.
• Argent Lite members get up to $200/month fee-free.
• A 2% fee applies to any amount above these limits.

Please note: some ATM providers may charge additional third-party fees.

What are the spending limits?

• Maximum single transaction amount: $5,000
• Daily spending limit: $10,000
• Monthly spending limit: $30,000

Please reach out to our support team in advance if you are planning a purchase over these limits — we may be able to temporarily increase your limit on a case-by-case basis.

Cashback Program

How does the cashback program work for Argent Metal?

Over a full year, you could earn up to $1,800 in STRK rewards:

• 10% cashback in your first 30 days (on up to $1,500 spent after activating your card)
• 3% cashback after that (on up to $5,000 spent each month)
• Maximum monthly rewards: $150 in STRK
• Maximum annual rewards: $1,800 in STRK

Cashback is paid in STRK by the 15th of each month.

You can view your monthly cashback estimate in the app. These are provisional and may change after end-of-month validation.

How does the cashback program work for Argent Lite?

Lite users earn 0.5% cashback on all eligible purchases. 

• Maximum monthly rewards: $150 in STRK
• Maximum annual rewards: $1800 in STRK

Cashback is paid in STRK by the 15th of each month.

You can view your monthly cashback estimate in the app. These are provisional and may change after end-of-month validation.

How does cashback get distributed?

Cashback will be credited to your account in STRK by the 15th of every month. You will not be required to claim it.

Cashback calculations are based on UTC time — the time of the payment determines the cashback period. (E.g., a payment made late at night in your local timezone might count for the following month if it’s already the next day in UTC.)

Which spending categories qualify for cashback?

All transactions qualify except for restricted categories such as gambling, cash equivalent transactions (ATM withdrawals), money transfers, and other financial services.

Does unused cashback roll over to future months?

No, unused cashback does not roll over.

Who’s funding the cashback program?

The Argent Card cashback program is funded by the Starknet Foundation. The cashback program is reviewed quarterly.

What is the Argent Metal Card NFT?

The Argent Metal Card NFT is a non-transferable NFT designed to unlock on-chain perks available for early Argent Metal card holders.

What perks come with the Argent Metal Card?

Argent Metal cardholders enjoy exclusive benefits on Ramp, Layerswap, Koinly, Nansen, StarknetID, Airalo and NordVPN. If you’re an Argent Metal cardholder, check the Argent Mobile app for the full list of perks and access discount codes (Card > Perks). Please note: 

• Ramp offer is not available in the UK.
• Nansen perk is not available to current subscribers. 
• Layerswap fees are refunded in STRK on a weekly basis to your account (up to $100/month). 

These perks are subject to change and may have specific terms and conditions. More will be added soon!

What are Metal Mondays?

Every Monday, we distribute $500 in rewards to selected Argent Metal users who have completed a card transaction in the previous week. Rewards typically range from $5-50. 

What perks come with the Argent Lite Card?

The Agent Lite Card doesn’t come with any perks for the time being. 

Can I upgrade from Lite to Metal?

Not yet — but we’re working on it! You’ll soon be able to upgrade from Argent Lite to Argent Metal directly in the app. Stay tuned for updates.

My ID verification link expired. How do I get a new one?

Please contact support@argent.xyz to request a new ID verification link. 

What happens if I lose my Argent Metal Card?

You can freeze your card instantly from the Argent Mobile app and request a replacement.

When will Apple Pay and Google Pay be available?

We’re working on Apple Pay and Google Pay integration. Expected rollout dates will be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates.

What countries are supported? 

UK and EEA for now. We will expand to more countries in 2025 and beyond.
