We're excited to launch a massive upgrade to how you trade through Argent. You can now trade any token pair at the best market rate.
Getting the best price couldn't be easier as your trade is automatically routed across 10 of the major decentralized exchanges, including Uniswap, Kyber, Curve and many more.
Trading is optimized for gas, minimizes slippage, has transparent commission (0.5%), and is fully non-custodial. Even with the commission you should still get a better rate than elsewhere due to the routing optimization.
How have we done this? We've integrated a decentralized exchange aggregator, Paraswap, and simplified the process into as few steps as possible.

How does it work, and how does it improve my trading?
In one tap your trade will be routed so you get the best price. The route takes network fees (gas) into consideration.
With our integration, we've simplified things even further by shrinking everything into one step (there's no need for a separate 'approve' transaction as there would be using Metamask).
Here's more detail on the two main innovations to how you can trade:
Split across several exchanges
When you select a trade you want to make, the rates across exchanges will be compared. This accounts for slippage too.
Your trade will be split across several exchanges if it gets you the best rates. The supported exchanges include: Uniswap, Kyber, Curve, 0x, Balancer, Oasis and Bancor, as well as Paraswap's own liquidity pool, ParaSwapPool. When you trade in Argent we'll show you which exchanges you've used, and the proportion on each, e.g. Uniswap 80%, Balancer 20%.
The best trade for you might not be the most direct. The routing algorithm may find that your best trade involves going through one or more other assets. For example, instead of ETH to USDT, it could be ETH to USDC to USDT.
These steps are optimized for gas by grouping them in just one transaction.
Who is this for?
While the new trading capabilities will help anyone trading any amount in Argent, we expect it will be particularly useful for those trading larger volumes who want to minimize slippage.
We're increasingly seeing Argent become a replacement for hardware wallets, including for those with over $1m in their wallets, so we know they'll find particular value in the upgrade.
We hope this is the easiest way to make the most of the explosive growth in decentralized exchanges.
Insane DEX volumes this year.— alexkroeger.eth (@alex_kroeger) October 15, 2020
Last year it was unthinkable that DEXs would handle this kind of volume, but DEXs have made huge strides in liquidity and usability.
We're not there yet, but I can imagine a future where what's unthinkable is trading on a closed source exchange. pic.twitter.com/vIsK8Bg6bk
The trading commission is a transparent and simple 0.5%. Even with the commission the rates should still be better than in our previous exchange due to the routing optimization.
You'll also need to pay network fees (gas) on top, as you do for any Ethereum transaction. Argent does not profit from gas. To simplify the process you can pay in a range of tokens, not just ETH.
One last thing
Our trading upgrade comes with a much wider range of tokens - such as YFI, UNI, FARM, UMA, CRV, TRB, PICKLE, CEL, SUSHI, BAL, DIA, DPI, SAND, STAKE, AKRO, GHST, MEME and RARI.
For security we haven't whitelisted every token on Uniswap but if we're missing something you want let us know at email@example.com. We'll see if we can include it.
With the new contract update we have also removed the waitlist! So you can let your friends and family know that now's a great time to start using Argent.

We’ll be announcing more big developments in the near future. In the meantime, you can read about our one tap DeFi access here.
